Charts, Tables and AI Infographics

Insert charts, tables and graphics in the editor. Move the parts of a graphic, fit its labels, and let the AI draw an infographic into a picture frame.

You can add a chart, a table or a graphic to any slide. You can edit each part of a graphic, and you can ask the AI to draw an infographic for a picture frame.

Insert a chart

  1. Open the Insert tab.
  2. In the Blocks group, choose Chart.
  3. Pick a type: bar, line, area, pie, donut or scatter.
  4. Set a title and a legend.
  5. Type the categories and values in the grid. The chart redraws as you type.

A chart is saved as its data. It redraws at the size of its box.

Insert a table

  1. Open the Insert tab.
  2. In the Blocks group, choose Table.
  3. Click into the grid and type.
  4. Use the row and column controls to change the size of the table.

Insert a graphic

  1. Open the Insert tab.
  2. In the Blocks group, choose Graphic.
  3. Paste the SVG markup of your graphic.

Edit the parts of a graphic

A click on a label, a box or an arrow inside a graphic selects that part.

  1. Click a part.
  2. Drag it to move it. Use the handles to resize a box or move the ends of a line. An arrow line takes its arrowhead along.
  3. Double-click a label to retype it. Enter starts a new line.
  4. Use the arrow keys to nudge the part, and Delete to remove it.
  5. Press Esc to go back to the whole graphic.

The inspector shows the text, size, weight and color of the part. It also has to front, to back and group.

Fit the labels

Labels can be wider than their box. When a graphic has such labels, the inspector tells you. Use Fit labels to shrink the text or wrap it until it fits.

Draw an infographic with the AI

  1. Select a picture frame or a media frame on a slide.
  2. Click Create infographic here.
  3. Wait for the AI to draw the graphic into the frame.
  4. Edit the parts, or fit the labels, as above.

You can undo the result. This works in the web app and in the mobile app.

Fill and crop a picture frame

  1. Select a picture frame.
  2. Click Choose picture to fill it, or Clear to empty it.
  3. Select a cover image and drag it inside its frame to crop it.

Format text as you type

Bold, italic and underline apply to the next letters you type at the caret. They do not restyle the whole box. On the phone, the buttons sit above the keyboard.
