Slaide Coach: Rehearse Your Talk Out Loud
Slaide Coach listens while you rehearse your talk out loud, one slide at a time, and tells you which slide ran long, where you rushed, and what you skipped. On the web and on iPhone.
In September I drove to a pitch battle with new slides and no time to prepare. My cofounder Jenni talked me through the deck on the phone, timed me while I ran it once, and told me where I lost the room. It went well. It also cost her an evening.
So I built a Jenni that works through the slides with me. That is Slaide Coach.
Open your deck, press Coach, and say the first slide out loud. The coach tells you what that slide has to get across, listens while you talk, and gives you one note back. Then the next slide.
Rehearse in the web app Get it on iPhone
How a run works
- The coach sets up the slide. One short spoken sentence about what this slide must get across.
- You present it out loud. A live waveform and a timer track you against the time the slide is planned for.
- You get one note. Spoken, short, about one thing: timing, pace, filler words, or a point you skipped.
- It fixes the slide if the slide is the problem. If your words keep leaving out something the slide needs, the coach offers to add it. You choose Add it or No thanks.

Left: one note after one slide, and an offer to fix the slide. Right: the run is done, and two slides get another pass.
At the end of the run you see your total time against the plan, one spoken summary, and the few slides worth another pass. Practice redoes only those.
Why not just practise in front of the mirror
The mirror does not time you, and it does not notice that slide seven took two minutes. Rehearsing in your head is worse: it always runs short, because you skip the sentences you have not written yet. Coach makes you say the talk at your real pace and tells you where it broke.
Listen mode, for the drive there
Listen mode reads your deck back to you sentence by sentence, hands free. It keeps playing with the phone locked, so you can go through the talk one last time on the way to the meeting.
Coach speaks the language of your talk, English or German.
Set your expectations
What you get
- A rehearsal partner that has time at eleven at night.
- Timing per slide against your plan, not just one total.
- Notes on pace, filler words and skipped points, one at a time.
- Fixes to the slide itself when the slide is what trips you up.
What you do not get
- A coach that works offline. Your speech is transcribed on our servers, so Coach needs a connection and a sign-in.
- Live ticks while you talk. Key points are checked when you finish the slide.
- A replacement for one real run in front of a real person. Do that too.
What it costs
Listen mode and the timer are free. The AI coach, with the spoken briefs, the feedback and the slide fixes, needs a Slaide plan: a Day Pass for one talk, or Hosted at $9.90 a month or $99 a year on the web. Prices in the iPhone app differ. See pricing.
Your deck does not have to start in Slaide. Import a PowerPoint or Keynote file, or let the agent build one on your company master, and rehearse that.
